Alto Purús National Park and Communal Reserve is a national park in the Amazon Rainforest area of Peru, created on November 20, 2004. It is home to groups of indigenous people, including some that have avoided contact with the outside world.[1]
The park is located in the Provinces of Purús and Atalaya (Region of Ucayali) and the Province of Tahuamanú (Region of Madre de Dios).[2]
There have been reports of illegal logging of mahogany in the park.[3]
